hey usually say that the best things in life are free, and that actions speak louder than words. Sure, these things work sometimes, but come on, you can be more creative–and tbh, more grateful–than that!
In the spirit of Thanksgiving and the holidays, here are 8 ways that you can express your gratitude to the people you love, and the people you encounter every day. You’ll be needing more cash and effort, but trust us–it’s worth it!

8. Give the security guard…

…good coffee.

You may have very little interaction with the people that guard your office/condo/subdivision gate (and they may not be as beautiful as this subway guard from Brazil), but remember that these people practically risk their lives for you every day. Treat them to some non-3-in-1/instant coffee to express your appreciation of their service.

7. Give your teacher/professor…

…salon GCs.

Give your favorite educator a day to look and feel good. These people deserve pampering!

6. Give your house help…

…a christmas basket.

Extend your gluttonous Noche Buena to your helpers by way of a thoughtful Christmas basket–put some spaghetti, glazed ham and queso de bola.

5. Give your favorite officemate/classmate…

…some booze.

Free alcohol always tastes better! There’s no better way to say thank you to your friends than making fun memories of getting inebriated (with good vibes) together.

4. Give your sibling…

…access to your closet.

Don’t be too hard on your little brother/sister. It’s part of their job description to borrow your clothes. They’d love an all access pass to your closet (and maybe your more comfortable bedroom). Sharing is caring, y’all!

3. Give your boss…

…a free day.

Tell your boss to take the day off, do all the work for that day (hopefully not dreaming he’ll return the favor). It’s only one night of intense OT, after all!

2. Give your mom and dad…

…an all-expense paid date.

Saying “I love you” to your folks is always good, but why don’t you take this up a notch higher and pay for a nice dinner? If you don’t have the budget, you can also cook for them at home!

1. Give your significant other…

…a break.

This is for those who have been perpetually PMS-ing/those who have been having a douchey streak. This isn’t even just a self-control work out–it’s just time to be kind; a time to remember why you’re with this person. (Or maybe realize why you shouldn’t be with this person.)
How do you say thank you? Post them feels in the comments section below.
