At the Manila Furnishings and Apparel Manufacturers’ Exchange (FAME) exhibit at SMX showing Filipino world class exportable furniture, table top accessories, lamps, etcetera, there was a section called “Manila Wear” showing off original and exciting clothes, shoes, bags and jewelry from top designers like Carissa Cruz Evangelista and Lulu Tan Gan and undiscovered young visionaries like Maco Custodio and Twinkle Feraren.

Here are 8 trends that can rival New York, Paris, Milan and London. We proudly salute own homegrown Pinoy talent.

These looks will be on the taste and style radars of the world of fashion for 2015.

Ron Ramiro’s white patent leather platforms turn the classic brogue with multiple tassels into a must-have.

Remarkable wooden bracelets made of antique found wood from old houses resurrected by Michelline Syjuco and, voila, the best metal riveted wrist candy. So chic.

Twinkle Ferarren tweaks sustainable and eco-friendly uses of organic (therefore cool and light) material into a summer shade of wow. This is the hat to covet.

Remember this label designed by Anna Marie Saguil. She has used many inspirations, indigenous fabrics and pinoy expert tailoring to create an entire collection of womenswear and accessories for summer in europe or palawan. proudly Pinoy!

Maco Custodio created colorful and witty shoes for toddlers. What a fashion statement for the porma kids! I wish I owned these when I was age four.

This beach wrap is now woven with spandex which makes it wash and wear. This should be done to all local weaves to make them modern and durable. Designed by Jaggy Glarino.

Perfect for the red carpet, this blond hard wood minaudiere by Michelline Syjuco is a winner. Accented with pewter and stainless steel. I want to own this!

Transparent plastic men’s shoe with stacked heels. Designed by manila’s number one footwear designer Ron Ramiro for his monster line. Even Paris has not come up with such a unique design. A real showstopper.
