Yesterday, we took a trip down memory lane for our tummies with some of the best restaurants of yesteryear that you can’t really find any longer. It was awesome, but for those of us who loved these places, we’re left wondering where we can get our fix of the next best thing.

Aristocrat still exists, and still has unbelievably great chicken barbecue. If you haven’t tried it, you are definitely depriving yourself of an absolute classic.

Or if you’re willing to pony up more, you can go for Jamba Juice, but that’s pretty pricey. If you’re really, really cheap about it, you can try the Samalamig stations around the MRT.

[buffer by="15px"]

Square pizza, but not buy-one take-one, Magoos is still around, and still has amazingly tasty pizza for a pretty good price. It’s too bad that Magoos branches are few and far in between, though.

[buffer by="15px"]

Pricier? Yes. But it’s well worth it. The sandwiches in Chuck’s Deli are huge and satisfying and guess what? They have a Choriburger kind of sandwich there now, so your Bun On The Run experience is practically complete!

Next best thing, indeed, but hey, it’s at least in the same budget range. If you’re willing to pay more, though, look in the direction of Brothers Burgers for your Carls Jr-esque fill.

[buffer by="15px"]

Closest thing and within the same budget range. You can have the complete diner experience if you went to Johnny Rockets or Sunrise Buckets, though. Unfortunately, Dairy Queen, to my recollection, doesn’t exactly sell anything remotely resembling the A&W Coney Dog.

[buffer by="15px"]

Guess what? Boulevard Diner and all the awesome stuff you loved about it still exists. Same chef, same awesome burgers (With a few new ones to boot!), and even mostly the same friendly staff. They just changed their name to Burger Company and can now be found along Scout Reyes, corner Mother Ignacia in Quezon City.

[buffer by="15px"]

Seriously, more than KFC, I truly believe Pancake House has good Pan Fried Chicken that could be comparable to Popeye’s. Then, they have a Spicy Chicken dish that would also remind you of the New Orlean’s blend from Popeye’s, although with its own uniquely Pancake House twist. Take my word for it: this is probably the best we have at this point, and more than holds its own in the taste department against Popeye’s Chicken.
