Arctic air has moved from the North Pole down south to Canada and the U.S. The media has been reporting this phenomenon as a polar vortex. It can get dangerous since wind chill temperatures can reach 30 degrees Fahrenheit below zero.
The polar vortex caused earthquakes in Canada and parts of that country were actually colder than Mars, with the red planet recently experiencing only temperatures of as cold as -24 degrees Fahrenheit.
Meanwhile, in the U.S., people have been scalding themselves by attempting to throw boiling water into the air to turn the water into snow.
